Thanksgiving Day – We still have much to be grateful for

Posted in blogging, Family, Personal, photography, Photos on November 26, 2009 by maryrestaino

With the arrival of another Thanksgiving during these trying times, some of us may feel apprehensive about our future. However, like the sun peaking through the clouds this morning, there is always something to be thankful for. This Thanksgiving I am grateful for:

  1. Relatively good health.
  2. No new incurred debt.
  3. Family.
  4. Friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Symbols of loss

All that’s left is

Broken glass on the side of the road

Catching the light of the night

Twisted car wreckage

About to be hauled away

A building burned

Or boarded

Symbols of memories

Dreams

Hope

Claimed by death

Failure

And fate

These photos were taken at the nature preserve across from Kaler’s Pond in East Moriches. The last one is of my 13 year old cat, Sweetie Pie, taken by my daughter.

family fun

Our children had the day off Tuesday; we took some time to have some fun at the beach:100_0734100_0741100_0742100_0724100_0738

At first everyone grumbled about getting into our van for family time. We stopped for some breakfast sandwiches first before heading to the beach. We had a nice time overall. After a while, the squabbling started to get out of hand; we had enough of each other until next time.
