Ten easy ways to be happy
1. Be productive – Set goals and do something to work towards them every day.
2. Make up your mind to be happy. Make a mental effort to look on the positive side of things; life’s problems will seem easier to deal with.
3. Exercise daily. Exercise is shown to boost the immune system as well as cardiovascular health.
4. Take better care of yourself and listen to your body. Don’t ignore your body’s signals; eat when you are hungry, rest when you are tired. You deserve to be treated well.
5. Avoid listening, reading and watching the news too much. Although it’s natural to want to know what’s going on in the world, the majority of news is negative. So don’t overdo it.
6. Stay in the moment. Notice what’s going on around you rather than worrying about yesterday or tomorrow. There is much beauty and joy to be found in the outdoors and everyday life.
7. Include humor in your daily life. Laughter is said to be the best medicine because it helps your health by reducing stress.
8. Spend time with the people closest to you. Tell them how you feel about them and have fun.
9. Avoid negative people and stressful situations and environments whenever possible. Sounds simple but it’s an effective way to take care of yourself.
10. Make leisure time for yourself. Having hobbies and relaxation time reduces stress and gives your body and mind a chance to rejuvenate.
