Bible prophecy coming true?

 Matthew 24

4Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 5for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. 6And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. 7Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. 8But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

Guess what I forgot?

Both my husband and I went out last night before the snow started, so we wouldn’t have to go out today. We got everything that we needed – except the toilet paper. So I went out this morning and brushed off my car for a trip to my local store. Currently, it is 34 degrees and the snow is still falling as I type this. Driving conditions near my home are good.

It wasn’t so bad, after all

We heard so much about the snow fall that was supposed to slam the Northeast Saturday. Long Island didn’t get too much, though. I took these photographs by Smith Point just before noon.

Reports say the temperature is 29 degrees, but by the water it usually feels colder.

Another beautiful day on Long Island

It is another beautiful day on Long Island, but oh so cold. Weather Channel reports the temperature to currently be 30 degrees. The forecast says clouds today, and threatens snow tomorrow. I don’t think you can tell in these photos, taken after Sunrise this morning at approximately 7:45 am.

How do you get your teen to clean his/her room?

A source of contention between my daughter and her father and I:

If we don’t do something soon, she will earn a place on the show “Hoarders”. Just kidding, but I’m going to see if I can help organize her things while she’s at school today. Clearly, she’s overwhelmed.

Garfield Monument, Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland

I wanted to share with you a postcard you normally don’t get every day: a scene from a cemetery. When visiting a cemetery, I look at the stones, monuments and mausoleums (the outside, of course), some of which are great examples of architecture and creativity. Which people are buried next to each other, or are conspicuously absent, tell silent stories. Birth and death dates, especially of young children, in family plots remind us that even the most successful families with the grandest plots and monuments have also experienced heartbreak.

A tribute to murdered children

Thoughts never spoken

Laughs

Never shared

A touch or a smile

Never offered

During another’s joy

Or pain

A song never heard

That should have been sung

Gifts never given

That would have been brought

The bloom was cut

And didn’t get the chance to flower

Another life thoughtlessly taken

Before it begun

You know something’s missing

Even though no one else seems to

Only God has the wisdom

To decide

Who should live

And who should die

You will be missed

I can see you are preparing

To go where

Those who love you cannot follow

At least not now

Your spirit remains strong

Your love for us still shines

You’re an inspiration

For us all
